Like most of us, I was trained in a very specific type of therapy. In psychology I was taught that the goal of therapy was to help me find my voice and make better decisions. At the same time, I was taught that the goal of therapy was to help me forget who I was. Now we are bombarded with these messages all the time. We are constantly told and are given the tools to be better, to become more human and to be better therapists.

I think I’m starting to see the problem with this idea. Most therapists, myself included, have been trained to think that the goal of therapy is to help us become better people. I think it is also the goal of therapy to help us become better therapists. The end result of that is that we come to believe that we can’t be the best person we can be because we have so many other things to do.

I think this can be a problem. As therapists, we want to help people become better people. We want to help them become better people because it is a great thing to do. We love helping people become better people, but what happens when we are not helping them become better people? We become more people than we ever were before. People become more people, but we are just more people. The goal of therapy is to make us more people.

In therapy, we are never finished. I think that’s really true. We have to keep going. We have to keep doing what we do. We have to keep doing it because it makes us better people.
