By I am sure there are plenty of people out there who would love to make a living as a professional hat designer. However, most of the hat designs on the internet are either very generic or are made to look like they are made by a professional hat maker.
I’m not making any claim that people who make hats for others can’t be good hat designers. As mentioned above, there are plenty of people out there who make hats for other people. Many of the best hat makers on the net create hats to sell, such as the ones you can see at Etsy. I like making hats and I think that making a living from it is a good thing.
The hat industry is a business, so we should expect hat makers to have a good eye for design. That’s not to say hat makers can’t be bad hat designers.
