I have a good friend who has a little bit of a problem with what he sees as a lot of social justice for white people. He’s a huge Donald Trump supporter and so I really only get to deal with this one time a week. For him, the thing that bothers him the most is that when he talks about white people’s right to be angry, he doesn’t even mention black people or Asian people or disabled people.
I told him that if he was white he wouldn’t have a problem with that. He said that he actually does, but that he doesn’t want to be called racist so he just keeps reminding everyone that he’s white.
Although the meme is only a couple of weeks old, some of the people who have posted it have complained that it is hurting the conversation. But that may not be true because I was actually on a podcast the the same day a person who is called “white nationalist” posted it on Twitter. And I even said something on Instagram that was basically the same thing. Its kind of sad how this meme keeps getting worse.
Well, there was one other person on the podcast I mentioned who also posted it. But I think its pretty safe to say that it is a meme, and that it was started by someone who was not trying to offend anyone. Its pretty easy to be offended by just about anything, and even if people aren’t the ones who are offended, anyone can be offended by a bunch of words.
It goes without saying that this is a bad idea to post on the internet. It’s not like I expect anyone to actually read it and think “this is a bad idea to write.” But this is what it always comes up with in the first place. So if this is the worst idea of the year for memes, it’s pretty safe to say it’s already been out for more than a year.
The “buts” in that sentence are the ones that come up every time I see it. If you make a meme and someone reads it, and thinks it’s funny, they’ll never know. If they are offended or offended by it, that’s their business. Nobody’s going to tell you to remove it.
The problem is that the meme is supposed to be funny. When people make memes that only offend somebody, they are actually making a deliberate act of censorship. It is a sign that they are worried that the meme has lost its meaning. It is also a sign that they are trying to censor something that is not their business.
If a meme has lost its meaning, the meme creator needs to take a second, and do a “but thats none of our business” meme.
