The job of a business intelligence manager, in my opinion, is not just to analyze information and make sense of it. It’s also to plan and manage the day-to-day operations of your business. And that means dealing with all of the various people coming in, as well as dealing with the numerous different IT departments.
I don’t like to be around business intelligence managers and I definitely don’t like dealing with business intelligence managers. As a matter of fact, I find them to be a little cold. They have their own personal agendas and they don’t always understand the importance of what you are trying to accomplish. They want the most up-to-date and most current information on whatever they are working with them on, so they try to get that information first.
I’ve worked with business intelligence managers in the past. They are definitely not the most pleasant people to deal with, and they definitely aren’t the most helpful. They typically want to talk about the newest trends and trends first, so they can get to know it and make it more “business-like”. I’ve had to remind them that the goal of business intelligence is to make the business more efficient and less costly.
Business intelligence is more like a strategic management technique. It is focused on analyzing data to make sure it is useful to the business. It is not a bunch of useless data that has no value or significance. The most important part is they need to use it wisely. Business intelligence can be applied to anything as long as it is used.
